Indonesian expo showcases NSW as best place to study

NSW’s world-class education offerings will be on show at the first international Study NSW Education Expo in Indonesia.

Representatives from the NSW Government’s international network in ASEAN will welcome a delegation of 28 of the state’s leading education, ed-tech and student accommodation providers to Jakarta from 25-27 May.

Minister for Industry and Trade, Anoulack Chanthivong, said the Expo highlights how the NSW Government’s international network helps to showcase NSW as the premier Australian destination for international education and strengthens ties with Indonesia as an important education partner.

“There were nearly 8,400 Indonesian students studying in NSW last year, accounting for half of all Indonesian students who chose to study in Australia,” Mr Chanthivong said.

“This NSW Government-led overseas Expo is a chance to create new opportunities for our excellent education providers, to increase Indonesian student enrolments and showcase NSW as the premier place in Australia to study.”

The Study NSW Education Expo will feature various events, including high school engagements, workshops, seminars, market intelligence and networking opportunities, as well as providing students with a chance to engage with student accommodation and ed-tech providers.

The Expo will culminate with the interactive NSW Education Exhibition, which is expected to attract more than 500 students and parents to meet education providers, learn about the quality and diversity of courses and discover everything the state has to offer to international students.

Professor Patricia Davidson, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong, said the Expo is an exciting and unique opportunity for NSW education providers to engage directly with prospective students and partners in Indonesia.

“We are delighted to be working with the NSW Government in Indonesia to showcase the quality of our education sector and the wonderful opportunities for study, partnership and engagement with NSW education providers,” Professor Davidson said.

The Expo will run from 25 – 27 May. To find out more about the full Study NSW Education Expo program, visit: https://www.study.nsw.gov.au/study/education-expoExternal Link
